Unauthorised Alteration in the Original Content of Registered Property Documents
Pune, May 2: Imagine you purchased a property and registered the sale deed years ago. Later, for official work, you obtained a certified photocopy of the registered document. But what if the content of the certified copy differs from the original document? This shocking scenario has come to light in relation to a land parcel under Survey No. 117/1 in Dhayari, Pune.
Anand Sudam Pokale, the landowner, has filed a written complaint with the Inspector General of Registration regarding unauthorized changes made to the original registered document. He has demanded an investigation into the matter and action against the responsible officials. All eyes are now on what action the Registration and Stamp Duty Department will take.
Pokale stated, “This land was originally purchased by my grandmother, Thakubai Tukaram Pokale, in 1927 under deed number 190. Through inheritance, I am the legal owner of 13 gunthas of land under this survey number, as reflected in the 7/12 land extract. For legal proceedings, I obtained certified copies of the documents on multiple occasions. I noticed that the certified copies from 2010, 2022, and 2023 contained alterations in the content. Crucial parts of the original deed were missing in the certified versions. These unauthorized alterations are a clear violation of legal procedures. Therefore, I request an immediate investigation and criminal action against those responsible for tampering with the document.” – Ravindra Binawade, Inspector General of Registration
