Now Register Property Documents Anywhere Within the District Under ‘One State, One Registration’ Initiative
The implementation of the ‘One State, One Registration’ initiative began in the district on May 1. As a result, property documents related to any village or area within any of the 14 talukas of the district can now be registered at any registration office in the district, regardless of location.
As part of the government’s 100-day action plan, Chief Minister directives mandated the enforcement of this system starting May 1. Acting on this, the Inspector General of Registration, Ravindra Binawade, promptly launched the ‘One District, One Registration’ initiative. With state approval, this move allows documents related to any property in any taluka of a district to be registered at any other registration office within the same district.
Previously, Registration Was Restricted to the Concerned Taluka
Until now, property documents could only be registered at the registration office of the specific taluka where the property was located. Under the new system, however, documents related to properties from any taluka can be registered in any other taluka within the district. This has made the registration process significantly more convenient for citizens. To implement ‘One District, One Registration’, the government renamed all registration officers in the district as “Sub-Deputy Registrars.” Additionally, the jurisdiction of each registration officer has now been expanded to cover the entire district. These changes have been reflected through updated legal provisions and administrative orders. The inclusion of village, taluka, and district names in Schedule No. 2 has further streamlined the process.
Successful Launch Paves Way for Statewide Rollout
Following the success of this initiative at the district level, plans are in place to extend the full ‘One State, One Registration’ model across the entire state. This decision by the Registration Department has made the process much more accessible and convenient for the public.
“‘One District, One Registration’ is the first step toward the broader goal of ‘One State, One Registration.’ Now, citizens can register property documents from any taluka at a registration office that is most convenient for them within the district.”
